HYDROGEN GAS:- With the help of a tube pass the gas in a soap solution. When bubbles will come out take a burning candle near it. If it produces a pop sound then it would be hydrogen gas.

CARBON DIOXIDE GAS:- Pass this gas in lime water. If it turns milky then it would be CO₂.

OXYGEN GAS:- Oxygen supports combustion so a good method of testing for oxygen is to take a glowing splint and place it in a sample of gas, if it re-ignites the gas is oxygen.
