how will you think about atomic mass distribution according to the Thomas model? Whether the distribution is uniform or nonuniform as per Dalton Atomic Theory?

Thomson atomic model was basically based on the explanation that most particles are simply present within the atom of an element. He also determined that the negative charges of electrons were actually well balanced by the presence of positively charged protons inside the atoms itself. He also stated that the negatively charged electrons were surrounded by protons that were positively charged inside the atom. He termed this positive charge as material. He named it as plum pudding model in which negatives were surrounded by positive plums.

Dalton suggested something that was a bit different as compared to this model. He stated the presence of tiny particles that make up the matter. He based most of his theory on the basis of what he could observe by his unaided eyes. He thus did not have the complete concept of sub atomic particles like electrons, protons or neutrons.

According to John Dalton’s atomic theory, ever particle whether it is an element, a molecule or a mixture, it is composed small particles called atoms.

According to Thomas model, an atom is composed of electrons.

The atoms are placed as per the number of protons and neutron in the atom.
