How women were ill treated in different ways until 18th century in India

They were ill treated socially in the society in a some ways :-
a) Women below the age of 18 were married with the groom. This was also known as child marriage. Even today 20% of girls are married at the age below 18.
b) But if the groom dies very early then the women has to live the rest of her life as a widow. The widows were ill treated emotionally by staying indoors and many more.
c) Sati was performed by the widows i.e. jumping into the funeral pyres of her husband if they don't wish to live. Sati actually means virtuous women.
d) Women had no equal access to education as men. The parents thought that if they attended school no one had time to do the household chores as women were meant to do it before. They were scared that the girls would learn bad things, get hurt in public facilities and also thought that they would become a widow.
