Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam believed in presence of God. It was evident from his work and poems.He believed in service to humanity as a service to god.He believed in god as a single power above all religion,wealth ,caste and society.
Quoting few excerpts from Wings of Fire:
"when you pray ,you transcend your body and become a part of the cosmos,which knows no division of wealth,age,caste,or creed.
Another quote from bible mentioned in his book and one of my favorite.
"God had not promised
Skies always blue
Flower-strewn pathways
All our life through;
God has not promised
Sun without rain ,
joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.
But god has promised
Strength for the day
Rest for the labour
Light for the way"
He was always opponent of communalism, casteism,linguistic chauvinism and violence. Showing a profound understanding of Indian society,he attempts to find the solution to problems with compassion ,detachment and sympathy.He wrote poem to express in simple terms even a concept as complex as search of God.
