Karen Horney’s explanation about psychological disorders is based on an optimistic perspective on human life.
As per him, psychological disorders are caused by disturbed or poor quality interpersonal relationships in the childhood. Alfred Adler’s theory states that in general human beings suffer from a feeling of inferiority usually experienced during childhood or infancy.
The basic difference is that the former stress more on social relationships impacting personality development while the latter focused on the inadequacy of personality as an inherent flaw in humans.
