Explanation:

A very easy solution is to take a sample of colourless liquid and put on stove if it starts boiling exactly at 100 ºC then it is pure water. Any other colourless liquid such as vinegar always have different boiling point.

Water is actually of no colour.so,that's why,a colourful solution can't be pure water.it can consist of many other different solutions such as acid,powders etc.so,colourless solution can be pure water,it can be confirmed.
