How would you demonstrate the action of saliva on flour

saliva have ptyalin enzyme as a constituent of it...and the flour is rich in starch(carbohydrate)..
when we eat the starch ptyaline enzyme breaks it in maltose and dextrin...
Starch =========> Maltose + dextrin
thse reaction product are further digested in small intestine in simpler sugar
