Longing in Lagen by John Iremil E Teodoro is a story about the narrator/traveller who visits the Lagen Island and he knew after his visit to the Island, he would be longing for this visit again and wished he could stay for longer
Explanation:
- The narrator is the traveller who longed for his travel in the Island of Lagen in El Nido. While on the boat the traveller see lights of Ten Knots resort in Lagen, and he knew he would long for this visit/place. The traveller boarded during sunset in Lio beach heading towards the Island of Lagen. The traveller began to experience the cool breeze, the nearing night sky and the silhouettes of Island during Bacult Bayshort visit.
- The light of Lagen is like a house where you can have a break and a nice night. The traveller/narrator saw this as the ideal location to write. After a restless journey, the traveler swam and floated quietly on the warm pool water while watching the blue moon. Throughout the Nido with the blue light, he felt relaxed dreaming of the sea feathers swaying in El Nido with blueness of water– a consolation for his tired mind and soul.
- The traveller wakes up the next day and decided the next time around he would want to stay for a longer time in Lagen Island; however, for now he would cherish in his heart the sweet sadness of his longing for the beauty of the Island of Lagen. The story depicts the longing for Lagen Island in Palawan and talks about the fascination of the traveller/narrator upon visiting the island. He also wished as if he could stay longer there.
