The differentiation between a molecule of element and a molecule of a compound is as follows-
- The molecule of an element has the same type of atoms.
- For example, the molecule of Oxygen has one type of atom which is only an oxygen atom.
- The molecule of a compound has different types of atoms.
- For example, the molecule of compound HCl has two types of the atom which are respectively hydrogen atom and chlorine atom.
