A N S W E R :

The rise of Napoleon Bonaparte was an indirect outcome of the French Revolution. As often happens, there was political & economic instability in France & there was struggle for power .

Later the fall of jacobin government a new constitution was introduced which denied the vote to non - propertied sections of society. It provided for two elected legislative councils. These appointed a directory an executive made up of five members. However, the directions often clashed with legislative councils, who then sought to dismiss them. This clash was responsible for political versatility.

Napoleon took advantage of the situation and became a director with the help of the army. In 1804 Napoleon declared himself the Emperor of France. He was a brilliant general & used his armies to conquer and dominate all the neighbouring countries except Britain and Russia. However, his success were short lived.Britain, Prussia, Austria and Russia jointly defeated him at Leipzig and again at waterloo in 1815. He was captured and sent as a prisoner to the island of St.Helena where he died in 1821.
