Jerome, George and Harris faced a lot of hilarious and ridiculous problems and troubles while packing.

Explanation:

• The seventh chapter called 'Packing' in the novel 'Three Men in a Boat' deals with the issue of packing.  Three friends- George, Harris and the author himself were all set to go out on a camping trip.

• The evening before the trip they had to do all the packing.  None could pack properly.  

• They smashed the tomatoes, smudged the butter, stuffed their boots inside with force and made a mess of the packing.  They could not find the various things in their proper places.

• They even sat on the butter.  Their extremely mischievous dog- Montmorency, added fuel to the fire.  He started chasing and spoiling the lemons as if they were mice.  These were the troubles that they faced.
