Since both I2 and NH4Cl are sublimable...we can't use sublimation
So we will dissolve the mixture of I2 and NH4Cl in water, NH4Cl being soluble in water dissolves but I2 is insoluble.
Then, I2 crystals can be separated out by filtration and NH4Cl is separated and obtained by distillation and evaporation...

When one of the component of a mixture has the tendency to sublime then we use sublimation process to separate them. But here, as both the ammonium chloride and iodine are sublimate so, the mixture of ammonium chloride and iodine is separated by first dissolving the mixture in water where NH.
