how would you show that exhaled air has more carbon dioxide than present in the atmosphere

Answer: we can understand this by the following activity .

Take some fresh lime water in a test tube

Note down how long does it takes for the lime water to turn milky

Use a syringe to pass air through some fresh lime water taken in another test tube

Note how long does it take for this lime water to turn milky

Explanation: Even though the amount of carbon dioxide is more in the atmosphere , we exhale more carbon dioxide .when lime water comes in contact with the carbon dioxide it turns milky in colour . Thus, it shows that the amount of co2 is more in exhaled air than in atmosphere
