to show hydrogen is present at cathode we should compare the water level of two tumbler which is low it is hydrogen and which is high it is oxygen because in water for.ula H2o

when we bring the burning split near the electrode and it makes pop sound than the gas liberated is hydrogen. when we bring the glowing splint near the electrode and it reignite than the gas is oxygen. From this we can prove that the gas obtained at cathode is hydrogen and that of anode is Oxygen
