The biggest identified addition of gases to the environment comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which liberates carbon dioxide gas to the environment.
Greenhouse gases and aerosols influence weather by changing incoming solar transmission and outgoing infrared transmission which is part of energy balance in Earth's atmosphere. By altering the atmospheric characteristics of these gases could be disastrous for humans because it can result in excess warming or cooling of the climate system.
