Good morning one and all present here. I'm ____________ and today I'm going to express my concern about the killing of animals at the hand of man. God created men and animals alike; they were meant to share the planet earth and co-exist. But man and his selfish motives have distanced him from animals to the extent that he has become a culprit in violating the law of nature. Instead of considering other animals equal, he started exploiting and killing the other animals for fun and profit. Gandhiji rightly said, 'Nature has enough for man's need, but not for his greed.' and when the man failed to understand the equation of the need and greed, the other equations also changed.

He started hunting tigers for their skin, claw, bones and body parts to be used in different ways, he started killing snakes and crocodiles for their skin, as a result, they and so many other species are on the verge of extinction. Killing animals recklessly is in no way justified. Just because man has a superior brain, doesn't make him superior. Rather, his actions today have brought him to the status of a brute, a brute who can kill his own dear friend. I hope you remember Shakespeare's dialogue 'et tu Brute' spoken by Julius Caesar when he saw his own dear friend Brutus stabbing him in the Senate. The same role has been assumed by the man. There is no end to the atrocities inflicted by man on other poor animals which can't even speak for their rights.

I would like to conclude with a request that if we are really a superior species, we have to prove it by a cordial attitude towards other animals and not by killing them.
