As an episode from Ramayana, this painting depicts how Rama's throne has been replaced by his Padukas by Bharat on an appropriate bedstead at Ayodhya.

This act is to show the complete surrender of himself to his lovable brother Rama. ‘Asking for the paduka’ means ‘placing the head on the feet’ or ‘complete surrender’. Bharat had carried the Padukas to the throne by placing them on his head.
