Putting Human at the center of understanding of mind and behavior aka Psychology.

Default approaches to Psychology studied human via Behavior or Unconscious Mind or from Cognition, etc.

Humanistic approach focuses upon Human as a whole. Thinking as to how to understand a human and find ways to improve human life.

One example is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs which introduced human being as beings with NEEDS and behaviors seeking to fulfill them.
