If x is the amount that Tanya paid for each item, then Tony's items would be x-1.25. So:
4x=5(x - 1.25)
4x = 5x - 6.25
x= 6.25

it means tanya spent 6.25 on each item and tony spent 5 on each item

Hey mate.....

here is ur answer.....

Tanya paid x of her items

4x = 5( x - 1.25)

4x = 5x - 6.25

x = 6.25
