And it's electronic configuration is 1s2,2s2 in ground state.

But,in excited state electron transfers.that means electronic configuration will be 1s2,2s1,2px1.

Here we have 1 electron in both s and p orbital(neglect 1s2).

so,the hybridization is SP.

These two orbital undergo SP hybridization and form two half filled SP orbitals and it gives a Linear shape.
