Hydrogen and oxygen combine in the ratio of 1:8 by mass to form water. What mass of oxygen gaswould be required to react completely with 3g of hydrogen gas?

Mass of Hydrogen in H2O / Mass of Oxygen in H2O = 1/8

=) 1/8 = 3g(given)/ Mass of O

=) Mass of O = 24g.

3g of hydrogen gas will react with oxygen =3×8 =24g
