\large{\underline{\underline{\textsf{Hydrogen\:Bonding:-}}}}

  • A chemical bond between the hydrogen atom and an electronegative atom.
  • An example of hydrogen bond is water molecules bonding together in the form of ice.
  • Particularly the second-row elements nitrogen, oxygen, or fluorine, and the antibonding orbital of a bond between hydrogen and a more electronegative atom or group.

\large{\underline{\underline{\textsf{Intermolecular hydrogen bonding:-}}}}

  • A type of hydrogen bond.
  • This occurs between H-atom of one molecule and an atom of the electronegative element of another molecule.
  • In other words,When hydrogen bonding takes place between different molecules of the same or different compounds, it is called intermolecular hydrogen bonding.
  • For example – hydrogen bonding in water, alcohol, ammonia etc.
