Hydrogen gas is colourless and odourless. It has no effect on moist litmus paper. It burns with a characteristic ‘pop’ sound when a flame is introduced. Is that true that it has no effect on moist litmus ?? I am asking this because my teacher says it shows effect on moist litmus..

u might have understood concept wrong when teacher explained.
hydrogen gas burns with pop sound is true.
but all compounds containing hydrogen are not acids . in this gas its only hydrogen . it is not acid or base to turn.
and all acids will show its acidic behaviour in water.
it might be HCl gas u heard. which changes moist litmus paper ( blue to red)
