Hydrogen is a cleaner fuel than CNG because when hydrogen is burnt only water vapour is produced which is not harmful to environment.

However, CNG on being burnt produces carbon dioxide along with water vapour.

Additionally if CNG undergoes incomplete combustion, carbon monoxide is produced instead of carbon dioxide which is much more dangerous and harmful for us.

Besides this certain additives and impurities are also present in CNG which when burnt produce dangerous oxides of elements like sulphur, nitrogen etc.

On the other hand, hydrogen fuel in enriched and highly purified thus negligible amount of other oxides are formed.
