As hydrogen has valence electrons only 1 .
For any chemical bond only outer most shells are used .
But hydrogen has only inner shell that is also 1.
As it doesn't have the property of chemical bond .
But it under goes sharing and gaing of electrons from other elements .
Examples :- CH4 , NH3 etc.
