(Hypo.)aquare = (adj.)square+ (opp.) square

(opp.) square =( hypo) square - (adj.) square

(opp)square = (13)square- (5)square

(opp) square= 169-25

(opp) square = 144

opp. = (144) root

opp. = 12

so the length of the opposite side is 12 units

12.
AB^2=AC^2+BC^2
13^2=5^2 + BC^2
BC^2= 169-25
BC^2=144
BC =square root of 144
hence BC=12
Thelength of other side is 12
