Question :

Friction is in the direction of relative motion.

Answer :

Friction is a force that opposes relative motion between systems in contact. One of the simpler characteristics of friction is that it is parallel to the contact surface between systems and always in a direction that opposes motion or attempted motion of the systems relative to each other.

Question :

A cemented floor has more friction as compared to a rough field path.

Answer :

Because on rough surface the interlocking between the two objects will be much greater and hence will require more force to overcome that resulting in increasing of friction.

hope it helps !!
