2x - 3y = 7 ......…......……(2)

from equation (1)

we have ,

3x = 5 - 2y

x = (5 - 2y)/3 ................(3)

substituting the value of x in equation (2)

2 (5 - 2y)/3 -3y = 7

(10 - 4y -9y )/3 = 7

10 - 13y = 7×3

-13y = 21- 10

y = -11/13

substituting the value of y in equation (3)

x = [5-2(-11/13)] / 3

x = (5+ 22/13) / 3

x = (5×13+22) / 3

x = (65+22) / 3

x = 87/3

x = 29

Hence x=29, y= -11/13
