LET THE STAR VALUE BE x

DIVISIBLE RULE OF 9 : IF THE SUM OF THE DIGITS OF A NUMBER IS DIVISIBLE BY 9 THEN, THE NUMBER ALSO DIVISIBLE BY 9

78*964 = 7+8+*+9+6+4

= 34+ *

The greatest number than 34 which is divisible by 9 is 36

SO 2 SHOULD BE ADDED TO 34 TO MAKE THE NUMBER DIVISIBLE BY 9

THEREFORE THE * VALUE IS 2 i.e, 782964
