(i)A Student heated a pale green coloured salt in testube for sometime and observed that it turned into reddish brown in coloured some colourless gas evolved. Identity the salt the reddish brown substance from gas and liberated
(ii) Represant the above Reaction chemically

Answer:

The pale green colour substance is Ferrous sulphate.

the reddish brown solid formed is ferric oxide and the gases evolved are sulphur dioxide and carbon dioxide.

reaction :

 2FeSO4(s)        −→heat Fe2O3(s)         +SO2(g)            + SO3(g)

pale green salt is ferrous sulphate that changes its colour into reddish brown and changes into ferric oxide...

gas liberated after the reaction is sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide....

chemical reaction :
2FeSO4 -----> Fe2O3 + SO3 + SO2
