We can add question tag like this-

I am going to school, aren't I?

What is question tag?

It is a question which is asked by the speaker not to get any answer from the receiver but to give emphasize on the said thought or statement.

Question tag us also called tail question because it is always added at the end of the sentence.

For adding question tag we should follow the given guidelines -

  • First we should write the complete sentence as it is.
  • We should give comma after the sentence.
  • We should identify the helping verb from the given sentence and use the same to add the question tag.
  • If helping verb is not available in the given sentence so we should use do, does, and did according to the form of the verb.
  • If sentence is positive we should add negative question tag and if sentence is negative we should add positive question tag.
  • give question mark at the end of the sentence.
