I am pursuing my aerospace engineering from Chandigarh University and then will do MTech, what are the chances of getting a good job after MTech in India and what will I do if I am unemployed?
Answers
Aerospace engineering has always been a topic for jobs in engineering atmosphere.
First of all let me tell you, whether its BTech or MTech, it does not matter much what you have done after the course, what matters most is what you have done during the course.
There are various opportunities when a BTech or MTech student in Aerospace Engineering can increase their credibility.
Research Paper: More you publish in authentic journals, more credibility will be awarded to you.
Online course: Whether its edX or Coursera or StanfordOnline or any other platform, do at least one course related to Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Coding: you must learn a language side by side with your curriculum. It will not only help you in getting your first paycheck but also help you in higher studies.
MATLAB: Having knowledge of MATLAB is very necessary, because there you will learn how to analyse an aircraft or simulate a turbojet engine.
LinkedIn: Remain Active on LinkedIn because big Aerospace companies always post jobs on LinkedIn.
Content Writing: Maybe you should write something, I mean anything. Open a blog and just write about aerospace, mechanical, engineers or anything. You can also write for Advice Engineer Educational Services (www.adviceengineer.in)
Make an Airbus Account for recruitment.
Make a good resume and post it on career section of every company related to aerospace in India and abroad. But post it with a cover letter. Learn to write a cover letter. Don't copy it.
Make a list of all the companies in India related to Aerospace Engineering. In big companies, apply for internship or apprenticeship. The salary should not be the priority in early days of employment, what matters is experience.
Learn some skills , any skill will do the work. Whether a design software or an analysis software ANSYS or mathematical programming like MATLAB. Be skilled in something.
So regain your passion and do as much as you can. Engage yourself to Aerospace Engineering.
Good luck.
