Explanation:

Umm, I think it's a bad idea to start CS now. You can try, I won't discourage you. There are summer programs for high school students at coaching institutions and you can develop it after completing your 12th boards.

But let me tell you the following.

A. I'm assuming you don't have any background in CS. Most students who take CS, do so in 11th grade or have matriculated 10th with CS.

B. I don't see why you have to learn CS to get an edge over others when you can do well in the subjects you already have. That can be an edge.

C. I have known people who have learnt multiple coding languages even though they are taught only one at school. Even I know coding in 4languages- Q basic, C, C++, and Java. I script video games and am currently developing an app.

But that's because I've had a strong background in CS since class 5 and computer programming is still very relatable across all programming languages. But you need at least a year's worth of mastery in 1 language to figure out the basics and logical concepts. That is best done if you're already taking CS at school or are at a lower class. At least 1 year of concentrated studying and mentoring is required in CS to MASTER it, unless you're really really good at math. Some people have an exceptional talent to just pick it up instantly, so you can introduce yourself to it but if you're not getting the hang of it, you need mentoring.

And it's 12th grade, I'm assuming you'll have extensive pressure of studies now. I don't know about you, but I personally could not master 1 extra subject (unless it was PE) along with the 12th syllabus. If you want to get an edge over others, I think the best way would be to concentrate on existing subjects and pursue (atleast until 12th)other activities as extracurriculars, could be sports, debate, quizzing, etc. If you're so he'll bent on getting an edge over others.

If you're planning to take CS in college. Let me give you some advice.

If it's a college abroad, they'll start teaching you from scratch. But it will certainly very very fast paced. And most students you'll be sitting with, will have some background in CS.

If it's a college in India, they'll start teaching you assuming you've have had 2 years of CS (11th and 12th) experience. So if you're a newbie, you'll need extensive outside coaching.

So these are the factors.
