Since HCF is 6, both the numbers should be multiples of 6, Condition(1).
Let the numbers be n1 and n2.
We know n1*n2=HCF*LCM=6*60=360.
n2=360/n1. Condition(2).
let us list combinations of n1 and n2 and test if they satisfy the above conditions.
(6,60), (12,30),(18,20),(24,15).
Out of these only the first two satisfy both condition(!) and condition(2).
So the numbers are (6,60) or (12,30).
As both are valid combinations you can take either.
Note: If you restrict HCF can not be equal to one of the numbers, then (12,30) is the only valid combination.
