"I am the king who started Vikram Samvat.

In the above sentence, “I” refers to king Vikramaditya. He was the king of Ujjain who founded the Vikram Samvat after his great victory over the Sakas in 56 BC.

Vikram Samvat is an ancient Hindu calendar which follows the lunar cycle and the solar Gregorian calendar goes 56.7 years behind this calendar.
