However, children who are more than 14 years old but have not been able to attend school till class 8, can get free education till class 8 under this Act.

It is the right of each and every child to be given the right to education. Education is the only weapon which can outshine poverty in the society. When a child has attained the age of eight years he is attached to the right to education. The child may be provided free education by the government and any parent or guardian who fails to enroll a child of this age to school should be answerable to the law.
