The complete process incurred in a loss of rupees 10.

Given:

Bought a book for rs 60 , i sold off to a friend for rs 70 but after a while i felt sorry , that i sold it and bought it back for rs 80

To find:

Loss in the process

Solution:

Cost price of book = 60rs

Selling price of book to friend = 70rs

Brought back price of book = 80rs

At initial the cost of book was 60 rs

By selling it to a friend at 70 rs, your profit was,

⇒ 70 - 60 = 10rs

After selling, you bought it back at 80 rs.

The transaction incurred in,

⇒ 60 + 10 - 80 = -10rs

∴ The complete process incurred in a loss of rupees 10.
