I cannot understand how just by knowing the electronic configuration of an element we can identify whether it is a metal or non-metal ? Can you please explain ? And in detail please and fast plzzz.....

see if the last number of ec is less than 4 that means it can lose electrons this it gains positive charge so it is a metal and if it is more than four it is nonlethal as it gains electrons to attain stability.

If we know the electronic configuration we will know the element and we also know that 1 group elements are alkali metals 2group elements are known alkali earth metals .So with electronic configuration also we can identify whether it is metal or non metal
