1) Monocots have complexly arranged vascular bundles, where as dicots have ring like vascular bundles.
2) maize plant is a monocot. And a grain plant is a dicot.
3) vascular bundles (xylem and phloem) act as the arteries and veins of human body...but they have specific functions. Xylem transports water where as phloem transports food. Generally, they make the plant survive in all senses.
