Extra Information

According to the structure, a sentence which has only one subject and one predicate is called a Simple Sentence. We do not use any clause in simple sentence.

So, when we combine two or more simple sentences into one simple sentence we can use participle. This method is possible only when the sentences have a common subject.

Example

I completed my homework. I sat to watch a football match.

=> Completing my homework, I sat to watch a football match.
