The notion of universal suffrage, also recognized as general suffrage or universal suffrage, comprises of the right to vote of all adult citizens, despite property possession, assets, earnings, culture, or ethnicity, subjected only to subordinate exceptions. In its initial 19th-century method by administrative reformers, universal suffrage was interpreted to indicate only universal suffrage of males however, the vote was elongated to females later, during the women's suffrage movement.
However, the law proclaimed as Equal Franchise Act in 1928 which ended the suffrage of first males than females and also women permanently had equal voting rights as men. Up until 1918, women hadn't been approved to be MPs in Parliament either.
