I had a doubt that in the board exams of English grammar my teacher said that we cannot use movie references in the essays but can we use stories or lessons from the other language books like marathi textbook in the essays?

u can write u'r own creative stories. if u want to add short stories from other book bring some change in the theme of the story .
But I prefer to write an independent story by urself.
