I had often noticed that in my neighbours family , the son was greatly pampered, but the daughter was treated unfairly. I could not bear this . so one day I decided to tell them about all the efforts that the government is making for the issue of gender equality. If the parents themselves would not think about equality , how will the society be able to respect every gender equally.   They understood whatever I was trying to convey and it resulted in equal treatment of the girl and the boy.

Explanation:

I had often noticed that in my neighbour’s family, the son was greatly pampered, but the daughter was treated unfairly. I could not bear this. So, one day I decided to speak to them personally regarding the unequal treatment to their children. First of all, I tried to tell them about the importance of a girl child in a family. A girl is never less than a boy in any aspect. She can be self-sufficient, take care of her family, hardworking etc. She is always loving and will be with her parents till their last moments. As I spoke to them about the significance of a girl child, they do not seem to acknowledge it as many other people may have advised them about the same. Thus, I decided to show them, how useful is a girl child to a family. I asked their son a glass of water saying that his father is choking for a lot of time. He said, "sure", and called aloud the daughter to fetch a glass of water for the father. She came with the water and handed over to her father and left the room. I looked at the parents, whose heads were bowed down. I said, "my intention is not to say that sons are ungrateful. They are also loving and caring. But when you pamper someone so much and ignore the other one, they will take it for granted. That is not a fault, but a human nature. If she was pampered more, she would also have behaved in the same way. So, always shower your love equally to children because both of them have come from you. Both are equal as they are your children." The parents realised the truth and thanked me for making them understand the reality.
