I have a doubt regarding domestic electric circuit We know that fuse is connected to live wire but the current which we get is AC current which reverses it's direction That mean live and neutral wire will also change after equal intervals then why do we define live wire and neutral wire

So as we have seen the neutral is the reference (much like you) and provides the return path. Without you, she can keep jumping but we will never be able to tell if she is left or right. the energy is stimulated by the live wire and the reference is given by the neutral
