i have a lot of confusion b/w "the" and "a"...please tell me the way to use articles...

Many learners of English have problems with articles (the words a, an and the), especially when they don’t exist in their own language. This blog looks at some of the basic rules.

The is used for a unique or specific think.For eg The sun,The Harish Book,The Indus institution.
It is never used before a name for eg.The Rashi××(except two names which are Alexander the great and Ashoka the great,The god)
While A is used in words with a vowel..Like A pencil(e is a vowel)..etc.
