Given:

I have an index and power. I have a base.

To Find:

I mean quantity who am I ?

Solution:

since, we know that -

Index or power :- the index or power of a number says how many times we have to use the number in a multiplication. e.g., 5^2=5\times5=25

Base:- The number that gets multiplied when we are using an exponent or also how many digits in a number system.

Now, according to question, we can illustrate as;

  • In M^n, here M is the base and n is called as exponent or power or index. e.g., a\times a\times b=a^2b
  • In 10^{-9}, here 10 is the base and -9 is called as power or index.          e.g., 3m^3n^2=3\times m \times m \times m \times n \times n
