You have learned that things do not always appear as they seem. As you enter adulthood, you will be exposed to various scenarios and situations which will call upon your finesse and poise and your ability to interact appropriately with many personalities.

In corporate America, one must wear many faces, which means, you adapt your personality to the occasion or to an authority in the workplace. At home, you're the parent. You're the spouse. You certainly will have many roles to model or play, and tasks, which could be wearing many faces; however, if you are in the privacy of your home, that is where you are most  comfortable and yourself.

The phrase, Wearing Many Faces, also implies you may be using insincerity or have shallow relationships. You behave dishonestly or ingenuously to avoid people; or, you are reticent to be direct with cohorts.

Another phrase, Wearing Many Hats, is similar; however, it implies you have several duties to perform  in a process, or you are multi-talented in several areas, master of none. If someone told me casually that they have learned to wear many faces, I would wonder how genuine the person is, or perhaps, that person had been hurt emotionally, and puts on a face on to everyone to hide pain or derision.
