No of boys = 440

No of girls =?

Let total no of students = x

Percentage of girls = 45%

Percentage of boys = 100 - 45 = 55%

So,

=> 55% of x = 440

$\longrightarrow \tt \frac{ 55}{100}\:of\:x=440$

$\longrightarrow \tt{x = 400\times \frac{ 100}{55}}$

$\longrightarrow \tt{x = 40\times \frac{ 100}{5}}$

$\longrightarrow \tt {x = 800}$

$\longrightarrow \tt \frac{ x = 800}$

Total no of student is 800

Hence, No of girls = 45% of 800

$\longrightarrow \tt \frac{ 45}{100}\times800$

=> 45 × 8

=>360
