I have to write an essay on a disease.
I'm wondering if I should include a thesis statement/claim or does this type of essay not require one? I just don't know if I should be informative and include all the details about the disease my teacher asked for (it might turn out kinda dry or basic or lame idk!) or should I include a thesis and present an actual purpose for writing this essay (but is that even necessary? Would it be extra?). Plus, I always write with a thesis statement type of structure. Should I try something new? Plus there's only one claim that I can think of when writing an essay about a disease and that's "though this disease is rare, it should still be acknowledged". I don't want my work in her class to be repetitive.

Please give me your input!
