Cos ⊙=AB/BC

BC=CD+BD=41

cos⊙=AB/41 equation 1

now, in triangle ADB

angle D is right angled

so, cos ⊙=BD/AB

Cos ⊙=16/AB equation 2

in both equation 1 and 2 L.H.S are equal so R.H.S is also equal

i.e., AB/41=16/AB

AB^2=16×41

AB^2=656

Now in triangle ABD

By applying phthogoreas theorem

AB^2=AD^2+BD^2

656=AD^2+256

AD^2=400

AD=20cm
